2. FAQ
How does MATTRS work?
MATTRS lets you choose distracting apps and websites, then earn access by completing a goal based on steps, exercise minutes, mindful minutes, or a schedule.
Why does MATTRS require Sign in with Apple?
Your MATTRS account connects your backed-up goals, including optional Goal names, and progress history so you can restore them after reinstalling. Apple keeps Screen Time selections on this iPhone, so you may need to choose apps and websites again.
When is Premium required?
You can complete onboarding and build a goal before subscribing. Premium is required when you start the goal and blocking begins.
Why does MATTRS ask for Screen Time / Family Controls?
MATTRS uses Apple’s Screen Time and Family Controls capabilities to block the apps and websites you choose while a goal is active.
Why does MATTRS ask for Health access?
MATTRS uses HealthKit to read steps, exercise minutes, and mindful minutes when your goal uses one of those goal types.
Why does MATTRS ask for Motion & Fitness?
MATTRS uses Motion & Fitness access to keep live step progress current while the app is open.
How do I restore purchases?
Open MATTRS, go to the paywall or subscription area, and use the restore option. If you still do not see Premium access, verify that you are signed into the same Apple ID used to purchase the subscription.
How do I turn analytics off?
Open MATTRS Settings and turn off product analytics. This stops future product analytics and TikTok App Events from being sent. TikTok attribution also requires Apple tracking permission.
How do I delete my MATTRS account?
Open MATTRS Settings, choose Delete account, and confirm the request. Account deletion is processed within 30 days. Deleting your MATTRS account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage billing separately through your App Store account.
What should I do if blocking is not working?
Try this checklist:
- make sure Screen Time authorization is still enabled for MATTRS
- confirm the goal is active today and has not already earned access
- open MATTRS once to let it refresh state if needed
- recheck the selected apps or websites tied to the goal
3. Permissions help
If permissions were denied during onboarding or later disabled in Settings, some features may not work until they are re-enabled. You can review MATTRS permissions in the iPhone Settings app.
4. Purchases and refunds
MATTRS subscriptions are handled through Apple’s App Store billing system. Renewals, payment methods, cancellations, and refunds are managed by Apple through your App Store account.
